16/08/2005 - "8th Wonder of the World" ?
Imagine the surprise and elation on our fellow Barkaway Member's faces when we'd thought we'd discovered what can only be described as maybe the "8th Wonder" of the world.
Mumbles of "Let's call the Natural History Museum" could be heard across the camping fields of the Pembrokeshire County Show. It was only noticed after everyone had packed away and people had started leaving the campsite. No-one quite knew how it had got there, or even why it was there.
Rumours were flying around that it must have been created by early settlers, maybe even from pre Anglo-Saxon times. Other rumours included that it might have been some sort of "portal" that could take you into another dimension or even another world.
So, as you can imagine, it was with great trepidation that we approached this (natural?) phenomina to try and discover it's origin and purpose. It was the sheer size and scale of this structure that amazed us. The time and effort put into building a structure such as this must have been immense.
We had just reached the foot of the object as was about to touch it when a shrill cry could be heard behind us. It was Helena screaming at the top of her voice. Naturally, as you could imagine, this sent us into a mild panic, with people running in different directions.
Only when Helena had finally caught up with us that we could make out what she was screaming, which was;
"Oi! You lot! Hands off my gate, I haven't packed that yet!"
